I fell in love with this image of a young Buddhist monk, meditating. I was reminded that in seeking a safe haven, sometimes the best sanctuary is our own peace of mind. While creating this painting, something magic happened for me, transporting me back to the warmth of feelings and experiences I encountered during the seven years that I lived in Asia.

This painting was inspired by a photo that my cousin in Poland took of his two eldest children by the Vistula River. I kept looking for a title for this one, until I heard my own children bickering, and thought of these two, playing so peacefully! I love the unique perspective and the shadows created by the late afternoon sun.
